We challenged you, and many of your clubs really rose to the occasion! As part of our virtual conference this year, we decided to encourage clubs to promote themselves to their communities with a video commercial contest. The rules were pretty simple:
  • It had to be three minutes or less in length
  • It had to be posted on the club website or Facebook page so the rest of the world could see it.

We had 3 prestigious judges, we’d like to thank them for their time:

  • Mike Teselle of KCRA – Channel 3 News
  • Dennis Shanahan of Fox40 News
  • Nick Janes, of JComm, Inc. – a video production company, who used to work for KOVR Channel 13 News

The judges scored on three criteria: creativity, content and execution.

The competition was really close, but congratulations to East Sac Rotary for taking the bragging rights! Click the image below to see their winning commercial.

Second place went to: Marysville
Third place - Lincoln

**And we owe a special apology to the Yuba City club. In spite of Bill Highland's incredibly well-done video, his entry got lost in the shuffle, an unfortunate side-effect of it being the first submittal, weeks before anyone else, and wasn't able to be considered for the million-dollar prize purse (hmmm... what's that you say?).  Cheers to Bill for being such a great sport about it.
