District Governor Steve's Welcome Message
Greetings Members and Guests!
I'm happy you came to visit our Rotary website and proud to welcome you to our global community of more than 1.4 million men and women dedicated to building a better world. We all make Rotary stronger by adding our skills, experience and enthusiasm in our community and on global projects.
Our Rotary International District 5180 has 36 clubs centered in Sacramento, and stretching from the Oroville Dam to our beautiful river delta. Formed amongst two powerful California rivers, our 1,700 Rotarians help make "The Magic of Rotary" take hold locally and around the world to further Peace, Health and Fellowship.
What makes our Clubs irresistible is the connection they forge between their members and the communities they help every year. It's our Clubs that support Rotary Youth Exchange students from around the globe. It's our individual members that lead the charge to make clean water a reality in other countries.
"Service Above Self" is the motto that sums up what makes Rotary work. Life long friendships are the bonus that you don't see coming when you start making the world better. These new friends are in our Clubs, our communities and often in another part of the planet, where those gifts we have developed here, make a difference in the world there.

District Governor 2024-25
Rotary Passport One got some awesome coverage for their very first fundraiser, the Crawfish Boil and Mardi Gras Celebration taking place on March 28.
Alex Fenner, from Rotary Passport One, and Anthony Trejo, from Active 20-30 Club, discuss this very special event and all the plans to raise funds for Bigger Than Us (BTU) Arts, a local nonprofit making the arts available to all youth providing instruments, lessons and so much more.

The Rotary Club of Arden Arcade raised $35,000 in order to place 12 life-saving AEDs (defibrillators) in 12 local parks throughout District 5180. They are designed for an 8 year old to be able to call 911, get the code to open the unit and follow the directions!
Very nice and truly a lifesaver for potential cardiac incidents at local parks. Well done, Rotarians!!!
Our District 5180 Rotary Youth Exchange program, chaired by Jeannine Sparks, was recently recognized for its work and activities by receiving a Silver Achievement Award!! Congratulations and well done!!!
The North American Youth Exchange Network (NAYEN) Annual Achievement Awards recognizes individual Rotary Districts participating in a variety of activities which cumulatively help create stronger Rotary Youth Exchange programs.
NAYEN sees these Annual Awards as a means to nurture the development of and cultivate participation in Rotary Youth Exchange (RYE) programs.
